Tawhida’s Story

Tawida Akter’s development can literally be called a success story – and rightfully so. Born on December 31, 2000 to a farmer’s family in Huzurikanda, her father encouraged her from an early age to be curious.
Ten months after her family became a member of the Mati Farmers’ Cooperative, she started at Mati Primary School. Very quickly she developed into an A-student, continued with High School and College and was admitted to University in 2020 to study for her degree in Political Science. Unfortunately, this was also the year, when her father died but he was very proud of his daughter and happy to see her succeed in life. In 2023, after 16 years of studies, she will receive her diploma.
Since Tawhida was brought up in the area, and knows the people well, one of the options she plans to pursue is a career as Social Worker and/or lecturer for MATI Eco Village. The past years she has been already working for Mati as an intern which supported her through university. In that function she is responsible for the bookkeeping of the farmers’ cooperative’s passbooks.
